Lynda and Mark love providing nutritious, delicious produce to our customers.

The story of Naked Carrot…

Lynda first fell in love Sunflower Greens while tasting them for the first time in 2005.  She had always wanted to produce food which was healthy and delicious for herself and others to enjoy and Mark shared her dream.  We began the business in 2006 with one small poly-tunnel green house which Mark built.  We then expanded to a converted shed on our current property in Mount Nelson during 2007.

We started with Sunflower Greens, which are a lovely addition to any salad or garnish, making every dish look and taste special.  After our first successful year we added Pea Tendrils and Micro Greens to our product list.   The business was expanding, so we continued to increase the production capacity of the shed until a fire destroyed it in 2008.

After much deliberation we decided to create a specialised facility to better regulate growing conditions and reduce our ecological foot print.  Mark designed a heat recovery/recycling unit for the facility which saves 80% of our heat for re-use.  The system ensures year-round production and uses much less water than traditional growing methods.

Our family business ensures a high quality, hand raised and picked product.
We grow all our produce in certified organic soil which we have carefully balanced with nutrients.  We grow our produce as organically as possible since we believe in the importance of eating and providing produce which is healthy and good for you.

We currently supply various restaurants and cafes around Hobart with Sunflower greens, Pea tendrils, and various Microgreens. All of our products are good for salads and garnishes. Our products are packed with minerals, vitamins and anti-oxidants.

You can buy our produce from the Farm-gate market on Melville Street in Hobart on Sunday morning between 9am and 1pm.
